Fumbling through Photos

Today I spent some time looking through pictures of the past year trying to pick out pictures for our Christmas card and have really enjoying looking at all the fun we had in the last year.

As I was searching through folders of pictures I stumbled upon this little beauty...

This picture was from an awesome weekend up on the North Shore of Lake Superior. We were up on the North Shore for the wedding of our good friends Megan and Adam. Mitch and Adam met when they were placed together to be roommates their freshman year of college. Now 8 years later Mitch was stoked to be asked to be a groomsman in Adam's wedding.

Adam has a contagious personality. He sees the good in all people and can make friends with a stranger walking down the street. He has more energy than anyone I know, Adam is the kind of guy who is doing back flips off the back off the boat while the rest of us are sitting in the boat being entertained by his seize the moment attitude. I truly feel that my life has benefited from Mitch being friends with such a good person.

Looking through theses pictures of the fun we had this summer was the perfect way for me to spend a gray and raining Sunday.

Walking in a Winter Wonderland

Well I wasn't actually Walking in a Winter Wonderland I really did a lot more sitting than walking. This weekend the snow arrived and boy did it arrive. In 24 hours we went from having no snow on the ground to having a good solid foot covering everything. Mitch got called into work for his first day of plowing so here is what my snow day "To Do" list looked like:

~Spend a ridiculous amount of time sewing Christmas presents
~Decide you hate the job you did sewing the Christmas presents and spend even more time surfing the Internet looking for new Christmas ideas

~Watch as much trashy reality TV as possible, including but not limited to, an entire season of Teen Mom
~Look out the window and contemplate shoveling

~Organize the basement
~Decide that no one sees the basement anyways and really there is no point in organizing the basement

~Read "East of Eden" I know the rest of the world read this book years ago but I am a bit behind

~Wait for Mitch to get home from his 12 hours of plowing, I so wish he plowed our street, I know it would be done much faster if he was in charge of it.
~Drink Hot Chocolate

~Be amazed at how powerful weather can be. The amount of trees that came down was unbelievable

~Send text messages to family and friends to either
a. get a status on their snowfall
b. send shock and awe to friends who live in warm states that think 60 degrees is a cold spell

~Enjoy the beauty that follows the first snowfall
